In renovating and adding to this former warehouse space in downtown Lynchburg, the challenge was to maintain historical integrity while bringing the 100-year-old building up to modern standards. Through careful planning we were able to keep the exposed structural beams as well as the original floors. We also converted stair towers to elevator shafts and married the addition seamlessly with the original structure. As a design assist solution, the job also required our preconstruction capabilities. And we have to count it as a success-we were contracted to renovate a similar one across the street.
